Secretary General of the Estonian Ministry of Culture Mr Paavo Nõgene moves on to head publicly listed company Tallink Grupp

Mr Paavo Nõgene, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture has announced his resignation to head a publicly listed company  AS Tallink Grupp. Secretary General Nõgene will remain in his current capacity in the Ministry of Culture until 30 April 2018.  

Mr Nõgene has held the postition of the Secretary General at the Ministry of Culture since 1 January 2013.

Prior to his appointment as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Paavo Nõgene held several positions at theatre Vanemuine. Since 2004, as the Executive Producer, from 2006 as the Acting

General Manager, and from 2007 to 2012 he was the General Manager of Theatre Vanemuine.

The Culture Friends of the Year for 2019 are Feliks Mägus and Olerex

Today, on Valentine’s Day, the Ministry of Culture presented the Culture Friend of the Year awards for 2019. The main prizes, i.e. the Culture Friend of the Year titles, went to Feliks Mägus and the fuel company Olerex. In total, Minister of Culture Tõnis Lukas recognised 23 companies or private supporters for their contributions to culture.

The laureates of the achievement awards for culture and sport were announced by the government

On 6 February, the government decided that the Lifetime Achievement Awards for Culture will be awarded to Rutt Hinrikus, Paul-Eerik Rummo and Toomas Rein, and the Lifetime Achievement Awards for Sport will be awarded to Kadri Liivak and Peeter Mardna. The government’s decision is based on the proposals of the Commission for National Culture Awards and the Estonian Sport Council.
