“Most projects in this application round were well-though-out and prepared with care. It is great to see that several projects have foreign partners who will also contribute to these endeavours,” said Reet Remmel, Adviser of the Foreign Relations Department to the Ministry of Culture.

The application round received 82 applications in a total sum of 815,131 euros. The largest grant sum, 25,000 euros, was allocated to the Estonian National Opera for performing opera productions “Rinaldo” and “Julius Caesar” during the MustonenFest 2016, held in Tel Aviv, Israel. Foreign Estonian association and unions received 6,700 euros in support for their projects. An overview of all projects that received grants can be found on the website of the Ministry of Culture HERE.

The grant programme “Estonian Culture Abroad” is aimed at Estonian artists, culture collectives and creative entrepreneurs, in order to provide the keepers and managers of Estonian culture a chance to reach an international arena and promote the internationalisation of Estonian culture.
